Ellie: My name is Ellie and I live with borderline personality disorder and have secondary diagnoses of depression and anxiety with some codependent behaviors thrown in there as well. While the name is not my actual name, everything else I talk about on this blog is real. Real events, real thoughts, real emotions, real actions, but most importantly, real pain and real progress. I am a mid-30s wife and momma of 2 kids. I have been dealing with borderline tendencies since I was a teenager. My BPD was most likely triggered into its potent existence when I experienced trauma at 28, but I was not officially diagnosed until I was 33 after at least five years of misdiagnoses. This blog is not meant to provide medical advice as I have no medical training besides having the triage nurse at the pediatrician on speed dial, but I have been in enough therapy and seen enough doctors to know that I am not the only one who has experienced the emotional rollercoaster that is borderline personality disorder. I hope that by being vulnerable with my journey, I can help break the stigma against BPD and mental illness in general, but also inspire others to seek the help they need for their own mental health.
